I grew up in Colorado Springs but have lived in Knoxville, TN, for the past decade. My love for Tennessee began as an overwhelming, heart-altering shift inside my body as I hung my head out the car window driving through the Smoky Mountains. These lush rolling mountains were such a jarring joy; different from the staggering and harsh Rockies I was used to. This was one of the moments that sparked in me a yearning for as much repetition of that feeling as possible. Since that scenic drive I've learned I can recreate that feeling through travel but also in softer moments of life. Art, music, laughter with friends, a really good book, the changing flowers of spring that you notice on everyday walks.

I believe that excellent photography not only tells a story, but also shifts something inside of you. I strive to take photos that do both.
